Disaster Relief & Humanitarian Response
KAITHANG actively responds to humanitarian emergencies by mobilizing volunteers, resources, and partnerships to support affected communities. During the Kerala Floods of 2018 and 2019, KAITHANG played an active role in relief and rehabilitation efforts across affected regions. In 2018, relief operations were coordinated in the districts of Alappuzha and Kottayam, while in 2019, as part of the Big Friends collective, KAITHANG led and supported flood relief operations in Kannur–Thaliparamba and surrounding areas. Through collective action, essential relief materials were mobilized and distributed to thousands of flood-affected individuals, demonstrating the power of community collaboration and timely humanitarian response during times of crisis.
Senior Citizen Care & Well-being
KAITHANG promotes the well-being and social inclusion of senior citizens through engagement programs, support visits, and recreational activities. Periodic visits to old age homes across Thiruvananthapuram provide opportunities for companionship, emotional support, and community connection. The organization has also facilitated special recreational experiences, including one-day tours and social outings, enabling senior citizens to enjoy meaningful experiences, strengthen social bonds, and enhance their emotional well-being while fostering a sense of belonging and care.
Inclusion & Support for Specially-Abled Children
KAITHANG is dedicated to creating inclusive spaces where specially-abled children and individuals are celebrated, supported, and empowered. Through collaborations with special schools, rehabilitation centres, and community organizations, we organize inclusive events, creative engagement programs, sports activities, and awareness initiatives that promote dignity, acceptance, confidence, and equal participation. These programs provide opportunities for social interaction, emotional well-being, self-expression, and community integration while celebrating the unique abilities and talents of every individual.
Children's Day & Outreach Programs
KAITHANG conducts community-based programs that bring together children from diverse backgrounds to foster friendship, inclusion, and social development. Through Children's Day celebrations, "Chechikkili Kunjungal" initiatives, awareness events, and interactive activities, we create joyful and safe spaces that promote emotional well-being, community spirit, and meaningful social connections. These initiatives encourage empathy, togetherness, and active participation while ensuring that every child feels valued, respected, and included regardless of their background or abilities.
